Kaal Sarp Dosh Calculator

काल सर्प दोष कैलकुलेटर

What type of Kaal Sarp dosh do I have, and how strong is it?

The full breakdown: whether the formation is present or partial, which of the twelve named types it is (based on Rahu's house), which direction it runs (Kaal Sarp or the opposite Kaal Amrit), and which planets are involved — including any sitting exactly on the node.

Reading the detailed result

Direction matters here as much as presence: all seven planets on the Rahu-to-Ketu arc is Kaal Sarp; the same seven on the opposite arc is Kaal Amrit, read very differently in the tradition. This calculator also names which of the twelve classical types applies (based on which house Rahu occupies), and lists any planet sitting in the same house as a node — some traditions read that as breaking the formation, others don't, so it's reported rather than silently decided either way.

Common questions

What are the 12 types of Kaal Sarp dosh?
Each type is named after which house Rahu occupies at birth (e.g. Anant, Kulik, Vasuki and so on) — the type names the formation's position, independent of which direction it runs.
Does a planet conjunct Rahu or Ketu break the dosha?
This is genuinely disputed — some traditions hold that a planet sharing a node's house still counts as hemmed, others that it breaks the formation. This calculator reports which planets are node-conjunct so you can weigh it either way.
Is a partial Kaal Sarp (6 of 7 planets) still significant?
It's generally read as a milder version of the full formation, since one classical planet sits outside the hemmed arc.
