What is my name number in Chaldean numerology?
Your name number is computed using the Chaldean numerology system, which assigns each letter of your name a value 1-8 and reduces the sum to a single digit. It works on English-spelled names only — there's no invented Devanagari letter-value mapping here.
Why English spelling only
The Chaldean table maps the 26 Latin letters to number values; no single agreed transliteration scheme exists for scoring Devanagari letters the same way, and different schemes disagree with each other. Rather than invent one and risk a number that doesn't match any tradition, this calculator asks for an English spelling of your name and says so plainly if a name can't be scored.
Common questions
- Why can't I enter my name in Hindi?
- The Chaldean system's letter values are defined for the Latin alphabet; scoring Devanagari would need an invented transliteration convention this calculator deliberately avoids.
- Does spelling variation change my name number?
- Yes — Chaldean numerology is letter-based, so different spellings of the same name (e.g. with or without a middle name) can give different numbers.
- Is this the same as mulank or bhagyank?
- No — those come from your birth date. This number comes from the letters in your name.
